In Mali, police have fired at protesters, after tens of thousands gathered in the capital calling for the president to resign.
Demonstrators say Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and his government have failed to tackle a worsening security situation.
It comes as France said it had killed the leader of Al Qaeda in North Africa.
