Malaysia has tightened restrictions as part of nationwide efforts to curb the spread of new Covid-19 infections. On May 23, 2021, the country reported another record 6,976 new cases, the fifth straight day it has recorded more than 6,000 new cases. The new government measures include shortening business hours and requiring more people to work from home.
