Born of struggle, the early years of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) were not easy. Before the Communist Party of China (CPC) could devote itself to the urgent task of rebuilding the war-ravaged country and constructing the socialist political and economic system that would power China’s future development, the Party and the people would make enormous sacrifices to fight and eventually win the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.

It was thanks to the great victory in this war that China secured the peace and stability necessary for the development of the newly-founded PRC.
