Global News published this video item, entitled “Majority of Canadians say remote learning negatively impacted children’s mental health: poll” – below is their description.
An Ipsos poll exclusively done for Global News found that 69 per cent of Canadians surveyed felt their children’s mental health has suffered from the remote learning situation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Given those challenges, a return to the classroom in September is supported by 82% of parents, but that said, 75% of Canadians think parents should still be offered the option of online learning in the fall.
The survey polled 1,001 Canadian adults, including 229 parents of children aged four to 17, about the impacts of e-learning, and found that many are concerned about its effect on their kids.
Just 41 per cent of surveyed parents said e-learning had been good for their child’s education. Sixty per cent of parents agreed their child is behind in their education because of e-learning, while 67 per cent said they believed the learning disruptions will affect their child’s future opportunities.
