GBNews published this video item, entitled “Lord Sugar: Covid has covered Brexit implications” – below is their description.
Lord Sugar has told GB News that the UK would be in a worse position as a result of Brexit had it not been for the Covid pandemic.
Speaking on the debut edition of Tonight Live with Dan Wootton, the businessman said many of his businesses had struggled to distribute goods to the continent as a result of the referendum.
“Brexit seems to have paled into insignificance because if it wasn’t for the pandemic I’m telling you you would see real problems for the UK with the implications of leaving the European Union.”
Speaking about the coronavirus restrictions globally, Lord Sugar praised Australia’s approach, saying “they seemed to have cracked it” back in September 2020.
Answering your questions on GB News, The Apprentice star also suggested he would not want to own football club Tottenham Hotspurs. The former Spurs chairman praised current owner Daniel Levy, saying: “I don’t want to own Spurs. It would be worse than being the prime minister.”
On the England national team continuing to take the knee – which was booed by sections of the Wembley crowd during their Euro 2020 opening game – Lord Sugar said “if the players want to take the knee let them do it,” but admitted he had not taken the knee: “Where would I do it? Sainsbury’s!?”
