Local political activist Haifa Malik could be seen handing out red roses on the streets of Houthi-controlled Sanaa, in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Malik handed out the prickly-stemmed flower to civilians and militants alike, saying ‘long live peace, long live love.’
A musical event celebrating Valentine’s Day also took place in the city later in the day when audience members were serenaded by an acoustic guitar duo.
