Efforts are underway to unravel the mystery of long COVID. Most people who contract COVID-19 fully recover, but about 10 to 20 per cent experience a variety of mid and long-term effects according to the World Health Organization.
And by those estimates, there could be 390,000 so-called “long haulers” in Canada.
The symptoms can range from fatigue to chest pain to anxiety and depression.
