CGTN published this video item, entitled “Live: Rice seeds brought back by Chang’e-5 spacecraft grow on Earth – Ep. 10” – below is their description.
The Chang’e-5 lunar probe started its 23-day space journey on November 24, carrying a variety of plant seeds, including 40 grams of rice seeds. These seeds traveled through the Van Allen belts and encountered violent sunspot activity during the trip. It was the first time Chinese researchers conducted mutation breeding experiments in outer space. The seeds successfully returned to Earth with the spacecraft. These precious rice seeds are being planted in labs and soil at South China Agricultural University in Guangzhou, south China. Check out this livestream to see the germinated seeds. #spacebred
