One person was rescued and eighteen others have been found dead following a #mine accident in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, officials said on Saturday. The accident, found to be caused by excessive levels of carbon monoxide underneath, happened at around 5 p.m. BJT on Friday, in Chongqing’s Yongchuan District. Rescue work and an investigation into the cause of the accident are underway.
