The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of more than 4 million people worldwide since it first began. Although self-quarantine and the rollout of vaccines as biological shields have effectively slowed down the infection rate, therapeutic strategies for COVID-19 must still be discovered.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and other forms of herbal medicine have been suggested as treatments for COVID-19 patients. This weekend, the sixth Summer Summit of the World Congress of Chinese Medicine kicks off in Changchun, northeastern China’s Jilin Province. CGTN reports live from one of the key sessions during the summit, while doctors and patients worldwide share experience in TCM treatment of COVID-19.
Hosted by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, the Summer Summit is a global academic event in the Chinese medicine sector.
