Washington Post published this video item, entitled “LIVE at 7 p.m. ET on May 24 | Primary election results from Georgia, Alabama” – below is their description.
Watch live coverage of primary night election results in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas and Minnesota from the newsroom of The Washington Post.
Key races we are following:
– Governor race in Georgia: Incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp (R) is facing a challenge from Dave Perdue, who is backed by former president Donald Trump. Former vice president Mike Pence is backing Kemp.
– Senate primaries in Georgia: Trump and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) have endorsed former NFL player Herschel Walker, who is in good position to win the GOP nomination. This would position Walker against Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) in November, one of Republicans’ top targets.
– In Alabama, Trump rescinded his endorsement of Rep. Mo Brooks (R), who is running to replace retiring Sen. Richard Shelby (R). Katie Britt, a former Shelby aide, has Shelby’s backing. Whoever wins will be a shoo-in to triumph in November in this very red state.
Join host Libby Casey in the newsroom, as well as Rhonda Colvin and James Hohmann for real-time results and analysis. Carmella Boykin and Jorge Ribas will provide dispatches from Georgia. Reporters Amy Gardner, Matt Brown and David Weigel will also join the show throughout the evening. Read more: https://wapo.st/3wPEkfE.
