Astronomers are holding a news conference to announce a “groundbreaking Milky Way galaxy discovery” by an international team using the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) employed to observe supermassive black holes.
The same team in 2019 released the first image of a black hole.
It is unknown what the announcement will be, but the EHT project has been studying the heart of the Milky Way, which is thought to be home to a supermassive black hole known as Sagittarius A*.
