Daniel Dumbrill has gone viral on social media. The Canadian YouTuber, with over 100,000 fans, held an online panel discussion recently on lies related to Xinjiang. On March 26, the video of his speech was broadcast at the regular press conference of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Three days later, Liu Xin had an exclusive interview with Dumbrill. He said the reason he chose to accept Liu Xin’s interview was that he wanted to tell the Western people the truth about Xinjiang and let them not be fooled by lies. With a great foreign viewers base, a show by CGTN’s Liu Xin is the most suitable platform. Dumbrill was outspoken about the political calculations behind the Xinjiang issues. He said based on his observation, the ethnic situation in Xinjiang is much better than that in the United States, Canada, and other Western countries.
