Lebanon receives us mediated offer on maritime border with israel

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Lebanon receives US mediated offer on maritime border with Israel” – below is their description.

Lebanon has received a written offer from US mediator Amos Hochstein on clarifying the long-disputed demarcation of its maritime border with Israel.

If both parties agree to its terms, they will hold an indirect meeting at a UN base in southern Lebanon to finalise details through US mediation.

Europe is seeking to replace Russian gas, and the Eastern Mediterranean is in a position to become an energy hub. But international companies will not explore parts of the area until the border dispute is resolved.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from Beirut, Lebanon.
