For more:
In Lebanon, pharmacies have gone on strike over severe medicine shortages. Importers say hundreds of medicines are now out of stock, as the central bank owes suppliers abroad millions of dollars and can no longer open new lines of credit. The local currency has also plunged to a record low against the dollar on the black market further worsening the situation. Two major local power stations have gone offline, after they were unable to access fuel shipments due to pending payments.
