CGTN published this video item, entitled “Leaders Summit on climate: What’s next on green governance?” – below is their description.
For more:
President #XiJinping delivered a virtual speech on Thursday at the Leaders Summit on #Climate hosted by the United States and attended by around 40 world leaders. Last week, the Chinese president also met via video link with leaders of France and Germany, also about climate action. He said these issues should not be used as a bargaining chip for geopolitical gains or an excuse for trade barriers. That meeting took place as John Kerry and Xie Zhenhua, special climate envoys of the two countries, met and put out a joint statement on the climate crisis. They both agreed on concrete actions this decade to cut greenhouse gas emissions. So what are the next practical steps in the battle against climate change? How big is the potential of green initiatives? For answers, Tian Wei sat down with Marcos Troyjo, president of the New Development Bank, on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia. #Coronavirus
