The Prime Minister continued his steadfast support for his Attorney-General today, rejecting calls for an independent inquiry into historical rape allegations as it would be subjecting Christian Porter to a different set of rules to the rest of the population.

But as chief political correspondent Laura Tingle reports, some prominent lawyers argue the Attorney-General should actually be subject to exactly the same codes of conduct as others in the legal profession.
