Daily Mail published this video item, entitled “Lava lottery: House narrowly avoids La Palma volcano magma whilst others are swallowed” – below is their description.
La Palma’s erupting volcano opened a new mouth late Monday as a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck the island at 9.30pm, forcing another 500 people to flee from their homes as lava began pouring out. In total, 6,000 of the island’s 80,000 total inhabitants have now been evacuated due to the eruption – which began Sunday and could continue for weeks. Attention is now focused on the millions of gallons of molten rock inching their way towards the island’s west coast, having burned up 183 homes and 250 acres of land along the way. Photographs shows one house narrowly avoided being swallowed up by the lava. The lava is expected to hit the ocean today when it will create a toxic cloud of hydrochloric acid, with police setting up a three-mile exclusion zone along the coast to keep people away.
