Lao Deputy Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone hailed the China-Laos Railway as a pride of Laos on Saturday while addressing a gathering to review the railway operation that went into operation on December 3, 2021.

In the past year, the railway has carried 8.5 million passenger trips and 11.2 million tons of goods. The 1,035-km China-Laos Railway connects Kunming, the capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province, with the Lao capital Vientiane.
