Lametta Fadlallah and Amner ‘Amy’ Al Hazzouri shot dead in Panania, found in Revesby | 7NEWS

7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “Lametta Fadlallah and Amner ‘Amy’ Al Hazzouri shot dead in Panania, found in Revesby | 7NEWS” – below is their description.

A huge police investigation is underway in Sydney after two women were shot dead on a suburban street in the city’s southwest.

Police described the shooting as a planned assassination. A number of crime scenes have been taped off where cars were later dumped and set on fire.

In front of homes, on a normally quiet street, paramedics battled to save the life of Lametta Fadlallah. She and friend, Amner ‘Amy’ Al Hazzouri, had been sitting in a car in Panania, when other vehicles raced up to them and gunmen opened fire.

48-year-old Ms Fadlallah died. Her friend Ms Al Hazzouri, aged 39, was taken to Liverpool Hospital, but could not be saved.

A 20-year-old man was driving and a 16-year-old girl were in the front passenger seat. Somehow they both escaped injury, but are traumatised by what happened.

Police say Lametta Fadlallah was known to police because of her previous associations. This morning, the riot squad searched Lametta’s home.

Not long after the incident, three cars were set alight in nearby suburbs.

Amner ‘Amy’ Al Hazzouri had no links to crime. She was Lametta’s hairdresser, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

There are numerous crime scenes across Sydney – including at the locations of the burnt cars – Revesby, Wattle Grove and Yagoona.

The young driver managed to escape the ambush, driving through a hail of bullets and pulling up in a nearby street to call emergency services.

Detectives, who are already dealing with deadly gang violence in Sydney’s south-west, say its too soon to confirm if these murders are linked.

Police say they are keen to hear from anyone with dashcam if they were in the Revesby area at around 8:30pm.
