Labor has slammed the state government’s River Class ferries after yet another defect was detected.
“They’re riddled with asbestos. They don’t fit under the bridges down the Parramatta River. When you put them in reverse, they stall – incredibly unsafe – and now we know you can’t navigate them after dark. What use are they? These are cheap knock-offs from Indonesia – they look like a ferry but when you get them here, they don’t work like a ferry,” Shadow Deputy Leader Yasmin Catley said this afternoon.
