Maria Kolesnikova (Kyrgyzstan) : Director of Movegreen, an environmental NGO

Maria recalls how shocked she was when she saw a photo of the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek in 2017, where the entire city was covered with smog. Her organization Movegreen decided to install sensors in order to raise people’s awareness of the quality of the air they breathe. With the mobile application AQ.kg, everyone can now monitor air quality and decide on the right timing to go cycling or jogging.
