Kurdish Offensive: Turkey furious over US arming of Syrian Kurds

The Pentagon’s announcement that it would directly arm Syrian Kurds has been quickly followed by Kurdish militias taking the Tabqa dam, a key lever on the road to the IS group stronghold of Raqqa. Could victory now be in sight? The Trump administration’s announcement bolsters the boots on the ground, and has also enraged Erdogan who claims Kurds are says are in cahoots with the PKK insurgency he’s fighting near his southeastern border.
