Thursday, June 25, marks the 70th anniversary of the start of the Korean War.
The war began on June 25, 1950, with a surprise attack by troops across the border that separated North and South Korea.
Commemoration services are due to be held in the many countries that took part – and on the Korean Peninsula itself.
Al Jazeera’s Rob McBride reports from the South Korean capital, Seoul.
