Kobe Bryant: Basketball legend and daughter Gianna remembered at memorial

Friends, family and fans came to remember basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna at a memorial in Los Angeles.

The pair were killed along with seven others in a helicopter crash in January.

The memorial – attended by 20,000 mourners – began with a performance by Beyonce and was hosted by late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

A number of speakers took to the stage at the Los Angeles Staples Center stadium including Kobe’s widow Vanessa, his friend, basketball player Diana Taurasi and his ‘big brother’ Michael Jordan.

Bryant’s widow remembered him as a devoted father and husband who arrived early for school pick-ups and wrote heartfelt cards and letters.
