Kenya’s plastic problem: US accused of waste dumping

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Kenya’s plastic problem: US accused of waste dumping” – below is their description.

Kenya imposed the world’s strictest ban on plastic use four years ago.

But environmentalists fear the country is now under pressure to weaken its resolve.

They accuse the American plastics industry of trying to influence a trade deal, so it can increase its waste shipments under the guise of recycling.

Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb has more from Nairobi.
