Kenyan women resort to sex work to survive amid pandemic

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Kenyan women resort to sex work to survive amid pandemic” – below is their description.

Around two million Kenyans have lost their jobs since the beginning of the pandemic.

The ripple effects are being felt widely. Crime rates have risen, children have had to drop out of school and the government says there is an epidemic of mental health problems.

Many people have been forced to make difficult decisions to survive.

In Nairobi, Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb spoke to women who have had to turn to sex work to put food on the table.
