Kenya election: President Kenyatta takes early lead against Odinga

Kenya’s president has taken a strong early lead as results from the national polls rolled in on Wednesday.

Uhuru Kenyatta was leading with 55 percent of the vote and his rival, Raila Odinga, had 44 percent at 3:00 am (0000 GMT), the election commission website said, after more than three-quarters of the 40,833 polling stations reported results.
