Tens of thousands of people in Indian-administered Kashmir are being granted residency, raising concerns it may alter the demographics of what was once India’s only Muslim-majority state.
That changed last August when New Delhi revoked the region’s autonomy, allowing outsiders to settle there.
But Mulims in the region say the changes discriminate against them and will silence their voice.
