The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “Justin Bieber and the NHS Choir join forces once again in Christmas single” – below is their description.
Five years ago, pop star Justin Bieber faced surprising competition in the race for the Christmas number one: a choir formed of doctors, nurses and staff from the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. Bieber eventually threw his weight behind their charity single, A Bridge Over You, which went on to clinch the top spot in 2015.
Now, Bieber has joined forces with the choir, who are hoping to storm the charts once again – and to raise money for NHS charities. Their single, a cover of Bieber’s song Holy, was released last Friday. The news of whether they’re got a second number one will be announced on Christmas Day.
“I’ll be listening out, with my family,” says choir member Caroline Duffy, 56. “It’s almost more exciting this time round, because we’ve done it once – so it seems more possible.”
She’s full of praise for Bieber, who, because of Covid restrictions, recorded his part separately from the UK-based choir. “But we met him five years ago, and he’s been so supportive of us and the NHS. I read that he said working with us is quite humbling, which is a really generous thing to say. Thank you, Justin!”
