Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Jury considers verdict in George Floyd murder trial” – below is their description.
The jury has begun deliberating the fate of a former US policeman Derek Chauvin accused of killing a Black man George Floyd, after kneeling on his neck for more than nine and a half minutes.
The court heard closing arguments from both sides on Monday.
Chauvin faces up to 40 years in prison on three charges.
The prosecution has argued Chauvin used excessive force, while the defence says Floyd died because of heart issues and drug use.
In Minneapolis and across the US, businesses are securing their shopfronts, fearing the verdict could again lead to riots that broke out after Floyd’s death.
Al Jazeera’s John Hendren reports from Minneapolis, the US.
