Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin held rare talks by video link amid the ongoing crisis over Ukraine in the wake of a Russian troop build-up.
The US president held a two-hour virtual summit with his Russian counterpart- during which time Mr Biden was said to have voiced “deep concerns” over the massing of Russian troops near Ukraine.
