Jerusalem: Existence Is Resistance | Al Jazeera Close Up

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Jerusalem: Existence Is Resistance | Al Jazeera Close Up” – below is their description.

Young Palestinians are now finding new ways of resistance: drawing, dancing, singing, or simply reminding Israel that the Palestinians will always be there.

Close Up In this film, we follow three young Palestinian activists in Jerusalem as they try to find joy in Ramadan, a time of reflection and gathering of loved ones for Muslims around the world. But ongoing tension around contested holy sites in the Old City of Jerusalem and the ongoing oppression of Palestinians has made that very difficult.

In their own words, “This is not only the story of Ala’a, Abu Gharbeia and Dania. This is the story of every young Palestinian who lives under occupation every day.”

#AJCloseUp features original documentaries that tell unique stories of people around the world.
