Former Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos holds a news conference following the successful launch and return to earth on board the Blue Origin spacecraft.
Bezos and his civilian crewmates returned to the Earth’s surface safely after rocketing into space on Tuesday aboard his Blue Origin spacecraft.
The near 11-minute trip from the company’s Launch Site One included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark, 82-year-old trailblazing female aviator Wally Funk and 18-year-old Dutch teen Oliver Daemen.
The mission represented the world’s first unpiloted flight to space with an all-civilian crew, and taps into the potentially lucrative space tourism market.
