Japan’s Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the government is not liable for 2011’s Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster, rejecting victims’ demands that the state pay compensation for the damage to their lives. The ruling triggered anger among the public. “We will continue to fight until it recognizes the government’s responsibility,” one Fukushima resident said.
