Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Japan court upholds same-sex marriage ban” – below is their description.
A court in Japan has ruled that a ban on same-sex marriage does not violate the constitution.
The case is only the second of its kind in a country where traditional views are still held towards homosexuality.
Last year, another court had ruled that the failure to recognise same-sex marriages is unconstitutional.
Al Jazeera’s Sara Khairat reports.
