Authors and publishing industry professionals are criticizing bestselling author James Patterson for suggesting that White male authors are facing “another form of racism” in the wake of industry diversification efforts.

Patterson — whose autobiography will be published by Hachette Book Group imprint, Little, Brown & Co., this week — made the comment in an interview with The Times in the UK published on Sunday. He also said the industry is growing more difficult for older writers, and suggested that the issues extend to film and television as well as publishing.
