Ivory Coast working to process more of its cocoa harvest

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Ivory Coast working to process more of its cocoa harvest” – below is their description.

Ivory Coast is the world’s biggest cocoa producer, but it exports much of its harvests as raw material.

But now – partly as a result of the COVID pandemic which left farmers with beans they could not export – there is a drive on to process more of its own products.

Some farmers and business people saw the opportunity in that and started working to set up more domestic processing.

Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
