7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “‘IT’S INSULTING’ | School COVID lockdown controversy | Sunrise” – below is their description.
As children return to schools across Melbourne this morning, a panel of international experts says it should be the last time class is suspended during lockdowns. The Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health found transmission within education settings is low and can be mitigated through COVID-safe practices. PLUS Melbourne’s lockdown has lifted this morning but the city is still subject to a range of restrictions – including the closure of some businesses. It’s a double blow for people who work at gyms, indoor play areas, nightclubs and non-seated entertainment venues. And, the federal government is being urged to give aged-care staff two days of leave after each COVID jab to recover from side effects.
