Heavy rains and flooding hit Italy’s central Marche region overnight between Thursday and Friday, killing at least seven people, while three are still missing, Italian firefighters said.

Around 180 firefighters are involved in rescue operations.

More than 150 operations were carried out and dozens of people who took refuge on the roofs of homes and in trees were rescued.
