Italy earthquake: Rescuers continue search for survivors

At least 250 people are now known to have died in Central Italy’s earthquake, but that figure could rise further as rescue teams search through the rubble of devastated towns.

The destruction is so bad in some smaller, mountainous villages that one mayor has suggested they may never be rebuilt.

A 10-year-old girl is one of the latest survivors to be pulled from the rubble alive, having been trapped beneath a building in quake-ravaged Pescara del Tronto for 17 hours.

Al Jazeera’s Sue Turton reports from Pescara del Tronto, Italy.
