On the eve of the first contest of the US presidential election, a self-proclaimed Democratic socialist has emerged as favourite to take on Donald Trump.
Polls suggest Bernie Sanders is just in front of former vice president Joe Biden ahead of tomorrow’s crucial Iowa state caucuses for the Democrats.
But the field remains crowded — and a string of other top tier candidates are in contention.
