The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “‘It feels quite random’ – British couple cut short trip to Portugal, with new flights costing £600” – below is their description.
A British couple has bought new flights at a cost of £600 after deciding to cut short a holiday to Portugal after the country was removed from the travel green list.
The couple were due to fly back on Tuesday June 8, but have had to change their flights to Monday June 7 to avoid 10-day quarantine and additional testing costs.
The original round-trip flights were about £200 per person – they were doing a twin-centre trip to Lisbon and Porto.
“After jumping through so many admin and financial hoops to get here, it’s dispiriting that the government is going to stop travel really just to look like it’s taking action,” they said.
“We all know the Covid risk to the UK is not coming from Portugal.”
