Malaysia’s king confirmed on Friday Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the country’s ninth prime minister, following Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation on Monday. Ismail’s appointment hands the post back to the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) after its disappointing showing in the 2018 election.
