Earlier this month, Mubarak Mugabo, a Muslim journalist from Uganda who is studying for a master’s degree at Peking University, set out on a journey of four main cities of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: Urumqi, Kashgar, Hotan and Shihezi. He had read many stories in the international media that accuse China of persecuting Chinese Muslims and wanted to assess the situation himself. In the talk with Li Jingjing, Mugabo shares what he saw in Xinjiang.
