The jihadist group Islamic State-Khorasan (#ISIS-K) claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing of a Shia mosque in the Afghan city of #Kandahar on Friday, which killed at least 41 people and wounded scores more, according to AFP.

The group said that two suicide bombers carried out separate attacks on different parts of the mosque while worshipers prayed inside.

Bakhtar News Agency, a local media outlet, said the explosions occurred at midday when hundreds of worshipers were offering Friday prayers.
