ISIL has claimed responsibility for rocket attacks that killed at least eight people in Afghanistan’s capital on Saturday. At least 23 mortar shells were fired from two vehicles, hitting residential areas in Kabul. Dozens of people were wounded, and relatives of the victims vented their anger and grief. The attacks took place as U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is set to meet negotiators from the Taliban and the Afghan government in Qatar this weekend.
