Iran’s largest warship, the Kharg, has reportedly sunk in the Gulf of Oman after catching fire. The circumstances around the blaze, which broke out at 2:25am on Wednesday, are currently unclear.

Local news agencies have reported that the initial efforts of firefighters to save the 207-meter-long (680 ft) vessel failed. Photos have since circled on social media capturing the evacuation of military personnel from the ship.
