Iran election: Incumbent president Rouhani faces ultimate test

Iranians will vote in a presidential election on Friday that, like in Europe and the US, pits globalism against nationalism and populism against the establishment.

The incumbent president Hassan Rouhani is the frontrunner but he faces a strong challenge from conservative Ebrahim Raisi, who has promised to create jobs and help the poor.
