ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Ipswich street fight sees one man shot dead, three others in hospital | ABC News” – below is their description.

A man has been shot dead and three others are in hospital after a large brawl in Ipswich, west of Brisbane.

Police said the fight, involving multiple weapons including baseball bats, broke out on Baden Jones Way at North Booval about 5:00pm on Tuesday.

Detective Inspector Heath McQueen said up to nine people from two groups had arranged to meet before the violence escalated.

“Several persons involved in that disturbance have armed themselves with weapons, including multiple baseball bats and at least one person at this point is known to have a firearm,” Detective Inspector McQueen said.

“That meeting has evolved very quickly from a discussion to assault and escalated to the point where the firearm was discharged.

“As a result, that 31-year-old male suffered two gunshot wounds and subsequently died at the scene.”

Paramedics said another man was hit by a car and taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.

Detective Inspector McQueen said multiple others remained in hospital, including a man suffering critical head injuries.

Police said two people involved in the incident were arrested in the nearby suburb of Tivoli last night.

Detective Inspector McQueen said several people were assisting police with their inquiries, however there were “a number of people who have been uncooperative as well”.

“At this point in time, we’re probably looking for one to two persons … and we will find them very shortly,” he said.

“I’d like to reassure the community that this is a targeted attack, and these two groups of persons are known to each other and police.”

So far, no charges have been laid.

Police have declared a crime scene and investigations are continuing.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the fight to speak to police.
